Last week, I flew a day early to Las Vegas, where I was scheduled to speak at the MoneyShow investor conference. I stayed with my buddy, Tom, and the plan was to take half a day on Wednesday to find a company allegedly flying OV-10 Broncos out of the North Las Vegas airport.
The company is Blue Air Training. Blue Air trains pilots in close air support combat using several aircraft types. Here is an OV-10 picture from their website.
Tom and I drove to the airport and found the correct address. There were no OV-10s in attendance. Bummer!
We did have a very nice chat with the chief maintenance officer. He filled us in on the company’s Broncos, which were operating at another of Blue Air’s locations. He said they are working to acquire more OV-10s. We also discussed their ability to operate on the Nellis bombing ranges.
I will check again next time I am in Vegas to see if they have a Bronco or two on the ramp. I hope Tom swings by once in a while to check. You can see the parking area through the fence.
On another front, I was officially in Las Vegas to speak at the MoneyShow investors conference.
I have been a MoneyShow speaker for about ten years. I really enjoy getting in front of a crowd and sharing some knowledge. Even better is the chance to meet some of my newsletter subscribers. It is humbling to have them share how much my investing advice has helped them improve their lives.
One of the subscribers, Rick, introduced himself and told me he graduated from West Point in the Class of 1979. If you missed the news, I am USAFA Class of 1979. Rick gave me a challenge coin from his class. Very cool! Here is a picture of Rick and myself.
I love to hear from my readers. Let me know what you thought of my latest post!
Thank you for reading my Substack. Help me reach more readers by sharing with your friends and family!
There is a CalFire OV-10 stationed in Ukiah during fire season. So I occasionally see it fly over. Though that always makes me nervous. They spot for a couple of S-2Ts also stationed in Ukiah.
